Jacob Side Table Milling Road

This table was inspired by a French Empire antique with an edited architectural look and long “broken cabriole” legs. Both the top and the shelf are hand planed and later scraped, as they might have been in the 19th century, for a faint patina and a worn hand. A single frieze drawer offers storage. The Jacob works as a side table, a small console, or as a fashionable alternative to a nightstand. The scale and openness of the design complement a larger sofa. The lower shelf can be dramatic presentation space, and it invites art or a collection of some sort.
